Camp Music Multi-Media Recording Studio General Information
Camp Music Recording Studio began operation in Escondido, California in 1995. Owner, operator, Chris Camp has been "rolling tape" for almost forty years, since he was a kid, growing up outside New York City during the exciting and musically unmatched 1960's… Growing up on the East Coast, Chris dreamed of moving to California ever since the Clampetts moved to Beverly Hills….After spending thirteen years on Music Row in Nashville, working in the studios as an, Artist, Engineer, and Producer, Chris followed his dream to live in California, where it's nice an warm and you don't need two pair of socks on all the time, and moved to a wonderful town just outside San Diego called, Escondido, which means "hidden valley"….. Interestingly, and unbeknownst to Chris at the time of his move, Escondido was already host to the world renound guitar and musical equipment innovators, the Carvin Guitar Co.  And, some twenty-five years ago the world famous Dopera Brothers had their shop in Escondido.  The brothers being credited with the creation of the "Dobro line of Resophonic Guitars"… The area is flush with talented and creative people in many artistic pursuits and is also home to the California Center for the Arts, a multi-theather, performing arts complex…. The studio and recording philosophy  at Camp Music is a simple one.  The goal and the fun in recording is the "capturing of a memorable performance"…!!! We pride ourselves on providing the technical, creative, and emotional tools our clients use to enable them to perform at their best, while we capture those performances with our technical and artist best….. In our first nine years of operation we've hosted productions, from tracking, through mixing, editing and mastering for a diverse roster of fine singers, musicians, cowboy poets, voice-over artists, rockers, country pickers, bluegrass maniacs, hardrockers, soft voiced folk singers, radio broadcasts, video shoots, late night magic moments, cute chicks with no talent whose parents or boyfriends think they'll be big stars….
